Traveling Pattern, Giveaway and Update

First a small update on my Fright Night Friends.   I am almost done with page 2.  The ghost is adorable.  This week is the Pumpkin Patch.   Most of it is the Kreinik thread. It is cool it glows in the dark but it can be such a huge pain.

Snowflower Diaries is having a great giveaway.  I did stitch a couple of her designs but I don't see them on my blog.  They were for a Spring exchange a couple months ago.  Or I deleted the post by accident.  Click here to get the information on the giveaway.

A couple months ago I won a traveling pattern and it finally arrived from Moscow,  Russia.

Winner!

I want to thank you for all your entries.  I love reading your answers. They were all wonderful entries. Linda Ebright of Lizzie Kate was the most popular designer, following by Michelle of Heaven and Earth Designs.  Today I wrote the names on a piece of paper, (well, 4 pages I wrote big), cut and fold the names, and put almost 300 entries in a shopping bag. I shook it a few minutes and picked a name.

The winner is.....

Her post was: "who would I like to sit & stitch with. It's a tie between Joan Elliott , Brooke Nolan & Tonia Pappan Oakhaven designs. These designers are wonderful & very easy to talk to. There designs are wonderful to stitch one"
Congratulations Rhonda!

I will be having another giveaway next  month for my birthday!  Be on the lookout for that in a few weeks!

Update, winner and pizza!

I am a little late for this update.  The above picture is my LHN Peppermint Twist as of last Thursday on Feb 2.  I might be able to  finish it off on Thursday if I don't get pick for a jury.
This my Halloween House update as of week before on January 27.  I was too tired to stitch last Friday.  I had went to lunch  with a friend that day and it tuckered me out.   We had went to Friendly's and I had the fried clam strips and a caramel sundae.  We went to the graveyard  to say a prayer for Mom.  I think I might have been emotionally tired because I tried to take a nap but I just couldn't sleep.

Than my round robins came in last week.  The ladies did a wonderful job on each ornament.  I  love them all. What is odd I was suppose to get Vickie H.'s first but I got mine before Vickie's.  I am still waiting for Vickie's so I can stitch her piece.

I do have my first finish but I can not show it yet.  It is a bookmark for an exchange.

Winner

I am sorry announcing the winner.  I put the names in a jar and had my father pick a name.  There  were 22 contestants and Berly of  New Year!   Congratulations Berly! The box will be on your way soon.
No worries for those who didn't win, I will be doing another giveaway this  weekend.   Stay tune!

PIZZA!!

I watched the Super Bowl game this past Sunday.  It is usually the only football game I watch through out their season.  I am just not a big fan.  By living in Connecticut, there is this rivalry for NY or New England, I really couldn't help to get into the game this year.  I did pick the Giants to win and since my father and brother were hoping for them too, I didn't make a bet with them.  I didn't go to a party but I could have gone to my friend's house, but she is a HUGE Patriot fan so I told her I didn't want to see a grown woman cry when they lose.  I sure was not expecting to be eating my own words, lol.  I made homemade pizza and chicken wings for my own party.  Here is the  pictures of the food I made.

Pizza with bacon, onions and mushrooms~my favorite toppings!

BBQ Chicken Wings

Pizza~half sausage for Dad, and other half, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and bacon.

The only thing wrong it was very greasy. I need to find a way to cut that down.  I haven't made pizza in years.

Many hugs,
Vicky

Liberty Belles and more exchanges

I finished Little House Needleworks Liberty Belles.  I stitched the design on 28 count Crystal Harmony lugana with the recommended with one change.  I switched a green-gray color for a blue gray color. I love how it came out and the material sparkles too.   I did make a mistake which I left in.  Can you guess the mistake?

I join in an exchange in Stitching With Love Exchanges blog.  This was a secret exchange and my partner spoiled me.  The theme was Tea/Picnic for a summer afternoon.  Barb stitched a lovely strawberry pin  pillow and she included a cat plaque, a cat needle minder, ice cream sundae napkins, Dinky Dyes silk threads, and a piece of purple fabric from Sassy's Fabbys.  Thank you so much Barb!
The person I send to  lives in Canada.  Until I get word she got my package, it will be a secret a little bit longer, I hope.

Marjorie, of The  Pumpkin Patch Stitcher, had a giveaway and I won.  When the package came, my mouth dropped!  I was just expecting the prize I won, CCN Tea Room pattern, but she included a tea cup dish towel, tea pot cover, a small stitched pillow and several patterns.  I am just touch by her generosity. I cant wait to start a couple of them. Thank you Marjorie!

In KraftersKorner, there was a coaster exchange I had to join.  Carien sent me the coaster she made for me.  She stitched a flower  with strawberries with beads on a plastic canvas.  It is very lovely and it will come very handy with my drinks.  Thank you Carien!

I picked up Lizzie Kate ABC Lessons this past week.  This is what it looked before I started stitching again.  I have since finished the word "Be" in the first line, the word "thanks"in  the second line, and the letter "H" in the third line.  I had finished a bookmark and a coaster for exchanges and working on a Christmas ornament for another exchange.  Sorry no pictures until they reach their new homes. The rest  of the pictures is my new stash I got from my retreat.  I have a lot of stitching to do!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and trying to keep cool!

Many hugs,
Vicky

I had signed up for a Spring/Easter exchange on Lainey's blog. I stitched the two sheep for her, since she loves sheep. The picture below is the items I put in the package.

Here is the close up on the sheep. Lainey has named her Vicky, after me. I am so honored and happy she liked everything.
This picture is the lovely package I got from Lainey. She stitched a lovely bunny and finished off in a hanging pillow. I love how she finished it and feathers she used too. The picture below is a closeup of the pillow. She included a small pattern, milk chocolate bars, a cute bunny ornament, floss, and some material. Thank you so much Lainey!

This picture above is the from Judith of Germany. She was my partner in the First Day of Spring Exchange I had organized in my ILCS yahoo group. I got this a couple weeks ago. There are a couple flower kits and some buttons. Thank you Judith!

Today is my birthday and I turned 41 today. I am leaving for VA later tonight so not too much celebrating. My aunt from Cape Cod is coming down for the weekend and will be here before I leave. I haven't seen her since my Mom's funeral. Plus I injured my back. I was bending over, then I felt something shifted and than shifted right back. I was in the er all day on Tuesday. The medicines I got is working and I can move around better.
I am stitching the Spring SAL but had started over on a cream colored material. I will post pics on my next post. Hopefully I will be done with it soon.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and the bunny brings a lot of chocolates.

Happy Easter!

PS. Heather, from Heather's Stitching Story, is having a giveaway. Just click on her blog name to go see it.

I Got a Frog and a Winner!

I just love this little frog. She is so adorable. This frog I dont mind keeping, and she is behaving very well, so far. Carissa from WI send me the frog in the Froggy Exchange. She, also, send the Mistle-Toad by Lizzie Kate in an ornament. She said this was the first time she made an ornament like this. She did a wonderful job. I would have not known it was her first if she didnt tell me. She gave me 3 purple skeins of hand-dyed threads. Thank you Carissa!

Bee Mine by Barbra Ana
28 count pink evenweave with DMC

I hosted a Valentine's exchange in my ILCSing yahoo group. The exchange consisted of a finish in Valentine's or heart theme, 2 skeins of threads, and some chocolates. For Sarah, I stitched her Bee Mine By Barbra Ana. I found the pattern on Cyberstitchers.com.

I have been stitching on Cat Lessons this past week. I did not finish it for my friend's birthday. I just ran out of time. I think it will be done by the end of this weekend. I dont have much left to do.

Now for the winner of the giveaway. First, I want to thank you for all the wonderful comments of my first granny square. I had redid it with a tighter tension and the gauze was correct. I had made 14 more squares since I last post. I know it will be a beautiful afghan and I will cherish forever. Okay, the winner of my giveaway is Lesleyanne of Lesleyanne's Life of Stitches. Congratulations! Please send me your address to me. I left you a message on your blog with my email address.

Have a great stitchy weekend!
Vicky

Granny Square and Give-Away

I am so proud of myself! I crochet my first granny square today. I got the directions from you-tube. The square came out a couple inches bigger than the demo. I know the tension was loose a bit but I could have used the wrong size needle too. I need to practice a couple more I think . I want to make a afghan of granny squares in shades of blue in memory of my mom. Now for the giveaway!
I had reached over 100 followers, so I am doing a giveaway. I had fallen in love with Little House Needleworks patterns and I found an extra pattern of The Chocolate Shoppe in my stash. I added the DMC threads that goes with the pattern and #26 needles. I dyed a piece of evenweave to a taupe color. The picture shows the fabric is a little pinkish but the majority of the fabric is on the brown side with a touch of a rose color.
All you have to do is be a follower and comment to this post only you wish to be enter in the giveaway. Everyone will get 2 entries to win.
I will pick a winner on Feb 24th, which would have been my brother's 30th birthday. Hopefully I will be able put in the mail before I leave for Virginia on March 4. Good luck!
