Patriotic Snowangel

I finished stitching this snow angel last night, when the news was on. The Patriotic SnowAngel was stitched on 28 count Little Blue Boy lugana, using the recommended threads except for the carrot nose. I couldnt find the floss for the nose, so I had went to Joann's to get the floss, and I end up misplacing the skein somewhere in the house. I couldn't believe it. If I had a child or a pet, or even a husband, I could blame it on one of them, but I lost it somewhere. So I used WDW Pumpkin thread for the nose. The pattern came from American School of Needlework Angelic Snowmen leaflet. I will be finishing it as a pinkeep.

Any one watched The Marriage Ref after the olympics? First, I was disappointed how NBC cutted the closings into 2 parts. I was stitching and was half paying attention to what Bob Costas was saying so I didnt even know they were coming back on at 1130 until this morning, lol. Of course I was too late to watch it then. It sure was not smart of them to cut the program into 2 parts. To me, I thought that was it, The End of the 2010 Olympics, and regular programming will go on. I wonder how many people saw the closing credits after the news. By then, I was watching another channel as I was kitting another pattern. Anyways, ( talking about getting off track, lol) I did watched The Marriage Ref and I laughed my butt off. There was even one time I was laughing so much, I laughed right through the commericals and crying at the same time.

I kitted Little House Needleworks Pear Tree last night. I was able to find all the threads I needed for the pattern. It is going to be stitched on 28 ct mushroom evenweave material. I wanted to stitched in February but I ran out of time. So I will try to stitch 2 ornaments, since I have He's a Flake in my pile and Snowy Pines will be shipped out this week to me.

My birthday is next month, so I have decided I will be celebrating it with all of you. I will be holding my first giveaway in a few weeks. I am still deciding what I am giving away. Any suggestions will be helpful. I found out my friend and I will be seeing Mary Poppins on June 23. He got front row seats on top of that. It is going to be so awesome! I can not wait. I think I am more excited about the musical than for my birthday.

A couple finishes

My first finish for the year was Lizzie Kate Dogs Leave Paw Prints on your Heart. I stitched it on 14 count aida and made it into a flatfold. It was a gift for my friend in Texas. I "stole" Kathy's idea and in the back I made a frame so she can put a picture of Zoey in the frame. I got the fabric at Walmart in Cove Copperas. It was the only Walmart in the area that still had fabric. Even my store doesnt carry it and now I am stuck with JoAnne's. I dont mind JoAnnes but it is just more expensive.
I stitched Little House Needleworks Fa La La in Texas. The picture is not so good. I added beads to the coat's buttons and to the snowflakes. I have to stitch the next one by this Sunday. I still have to make it into an ornament and I got the perfect fabric for it. I just have to go find it because my brother moved my things while I was gone.

While I was in Texas, my leg reopened up. So I am back to elevating and going to the wound care center every week again. But the wound is not so bad as before and should be healed in time for spring. My friend from Florida is coming to Connecticut in June. Unfortunely, he is coming the week the ILCSing is having their retreat. Since I dont see my friend too often, I wont be going to St. Louis this year. My friend is taking me to see Mary Poppins on Broadway in New York City that week. I am so looking forward towards to the see the musical. I already brought the cd and been playing so I can get to know the songs.

I still have some catching up to do still. Hopefully I will be posting again soon, with my February ornament and a snowman.

Happy Stitching!

Thank You Karen!!!

Thank you Karen for the lovely gifts from the 12 Days of Christmas exchange. I loved everything. I am sorry this thank you is so late. My brother moved my stuff around while I was gone. I am still looking for stuff he moved around. This is only a few of the gifts I got from Karen. I also got a beautiful scissor fob and Little House Needleworks Music and Books pattern. I will be doing that pattern twice, one for me and one for my friend. Somehow not all the pictures went thru and I am not sure why but thank you again Karen.

Greetings from Texas!

I am in Killeen, Texas. I got here on Dec 29 at 4:45 in the morning. Yikes, it was so early. Since than I have just been house sitting and watching the pets while my friends are in Walt Disney World. I have been bored and anxious to do some sightseeing next week. The bumper is I forgot my camera. I am so mad at myself so I probably buy a disposable camera so I can have a few pictures of my trip. I, also, forgot to charge my phone before leaving and my phone died in New York, at the beginning of my trip. I couldn't charge it until I got to Nashville the next morning. I was literaly hopping from one bus to another at my transfers and the bus rests were not long. The phone was charged only 40 minutes but it gave enough juice for the rest of my trip and I was able to call my friends to let them know what happened. They were a little worried considering of what happen last time I tried to visit them.
I have been stitching. Since I left Connecticut, I had started on 3 new projects and finished one of them. I finished stitching Lizzie Kate Dogs Leave PawPrints and I think I will be finishing it into a flatfold. I started The Trilogy Patroitic Line Up. I am leaving that one in the living room and I tried to stitch in it in the mornings. I am trying to cut down on my television watching. By the computer, I have my third project, Little House Needleworks The Library. I am doing it with the LHN/CCN yahoo group SAL.
As I was packing, I am realizing how much stash I have. I mean I am literally running out of room in my room and craft desk. So I decided I will NOT buy any more stash unless I need to finish a project. Well, I didn't last long. ABC Stitch was having a sale on LHN and CCN patterns and I end up buying 3 of them before even I realize I made this promise. I think the best thing to do is to pick myself up, dust myself and start all over again. It may be tough in a couple weeks because I am hoping to meet with a friend in Waco and there is a LNS 10 minutes away from here.
I will try to post another update by the end of next week, hopefully filled with a couple adventures of the Wild Wild West.
