My friend, Milly, Had put this quote on Facebook. I love it. It hit me real hard. These last several weeks I have been in a funk, and I am realizing I have not been growing into the person I want to be. That means I have to change how I live my life and changing is scary. I have gotten used to the way I was doing things that I am stuck. I even didn't realize the harm I was doing. I have been numb for a long time. a friend had asked if I miss having someone and my first reply was "Sometimes." It made me think why I said that and I realize I have been burying my feelings and how lonely I have been for awhile. I don't know what steps I need to take, but I do know my health needs to approve and to learn to like myself as the person as I am now. Right now I do not like myself and I do not know how to do that.
Thank you for listening.
Many hugs,
Vicky

Vicky, you're on your way!! Just take things one step at a time. Every day is a new one. Make changes slowly and let them become part of your new life.
And you are not alone...
Realizing where you are is the first step, Vicky. I hope you figure out where you're going. I was in a funk for a long time too when I moved into my own place and was alone a lot. I solved that problem, easily, by getting my Yes Dear. Maybe a cat or dog companion will help you while you make some changes. I will keep you in my prayers!
Vicky, you're very special and I'm sure you will find what you need to because you listen. Sending love, hugs and prayers. :) Cathryn
You have started by taking the first step and realising. Don't be too hard on yourself either. There is no such thing in this world as a perfect person and there never will be. You have every right to be who you are and to think and feel as you do. Habits are usually the things that need changing, not the person within. You are a lovely person and very generous and kind hearted.
I understand Vicky! I have been a funk all year long....just take it one day at a time. I have learned that if I go talk a small walk and get out in the fresh air..it makes a world of difference.
I love that quote, and it's so true. I've learned a lot of things through change - Things I would've never known otherwise.
Change is a good thing :)

I think what you need is a weekend with some girl friends.
We all have different ways of dealing with what life throws at us. I think that developing many ways to handle these changes brings on more change because you discover more about yourself. Change is hard but it is what makes life interesting. One small step leads to another (like stitching). After a few steps you begin to realize that you have gone pretty far and it isn't that hard or bad. So like stitching the more you put into it the greater the level of detail and depth you get.
Taking the first steps out of your comfort zone is hard but you can do it! No one is watching the clock or the finish line. Set realistic goals for yourself and reward yourself when you make them. Too often we beat ourselves up because we are afraid of failing. So many great people failed numerous times but they didn't give up. That's the secret we are all WIP ( a work in progress). I know I certainly have been called a piece of work and I am progressive so I take that as something positive. There will always be the vampires of this world who suck the life out of you and impart their negativity. Sadly that's how they get their jollies. Don't give them the satisfaction of ruining your day. Focus on the positive, it seriously pisses them off when you smile sweetly and tell them have a great day. Instead of doubt tell yourself that you can do this.
hugs,
Mare
Vicky I have the same problem at times and it goes way back but, I've decided that I have to love me for what I am and who I am and I thank God for everything he has given me. Hugs to you.
